About Us

Dear Families:

Welcome to Village Methodist Day School (VMDS).  We are here to provide your child with a safe and nurturing environment while he or she needs care away from home.   Our philosophy... Village Methodist Day School believes in providing our students with a nurturing Christian environment.  We recognize that every child is a unique gift from God.  We believe if a child receives a foundation of learning from a Christian perspective, this foundation will enable all children to reach their potential, celebrate their success and feel the jot of the Lord as well as the excitement of learning.  We focus on goals, our affiliation with Village United Methodist Church and our Staff.

Goal - The goal of Village Methodist Day School is to provide a nurturing yet challenging atmosphere  in which every child are encouraged to think creatively, and build self confidence in accordance with the age of the child.  Every child is unique and we believe that success and growth come from encouragement and praise. Our teachers focus on building every child’s self esteem and confidence through positive feedback and rewards. We nurture their natural strengths. A child see’s the world around them with wonder and awe, we believe in encouraging their natural curiosity.  We believe that parents and the school should work together for the benefit of the child.  Under the guidelines of the Creative Curriculum, as the Cognitive Core, the goal is "for children to get along well with others and become enthusiastic learners."

Affiliation - Village Methodist Day School is a part of Village Methodist Church's (VUMC) ministry to the community.  The school is owned and operated by the United Methodist Church.  We are located on several acres of fenced-in grounds separated into four areas each having age-appropriate playgrounds.  The school building is a state of the art facility which includes seven classrooms and

teacher’s lounge.  In addition, the children have use of the church facilities including a large ‘Fellowship Hall’. It holds the "Gold Seal Quality of Care" from the Department of Children and Families Child Care Services, and has been proudly accredited by APPLE.  All inspections, accreditations, and ratings are conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by APPLE, Florida Department of Children and Families, Early Learning Coalition, Family Central, and Broward County Child Care Ordinance.  Village Methodist Day School has been chosen to become the Model School for Broward County for the "Living Values Educational Program", a program which aims toward a better world of peace, based on 12 universal values that apply to all children and adults.

Staff - All of our staff members meets State requirements for training along with a variety of other Early Childhood Education workshops.  In addition, all lead teachers either have or are enrolled in FCCPC, CDA or College degree training courses.  The staff is chosen based on their enjoyment of working with children, high aspirations to work in early learning environments, formal preparation in early childhood education, experience in the field, and because they share the philosophy we are practicing at Village.  We do not assign staff on the basis of religion, age, race, national origin, gender or handicap.

"We appreciate the trust you place in us to cultivate an atmosphere where all children can experience the love of God".
